Q: How much lead time do I need to give you?
A: Typically we need fewer than 24 hours notice. Orders placed before 9 am should be filled that day.
Q: How long can I keep the dumpster?
A: Seven days.
Q: Can I fill the dumpster over the top?
A: No.
Q: What can I put in the dumpster?
A: Drywall, lumber, empty buckets, household junk, cans, construction debris. No food waste!
Q: Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
A: It will likely scratch the surface since the wheels are metal. If you place plywood on the driveway where you want the dumpster located the driver will place it under the wheels of the dumpster to prevent scratches. We are not responsible if your driveway cracks, crumbles or collapses. If your driveway has settled over the years it is not our fault. It is the homeowners’ duty to ensure that the driveway is safe for us to be on, not the other way around. That being said, it is extremely rare for driveways to collapse from a dumpster.
Dumpster Details
Customers always ask for suggestions on what size to order. Sometimes you can measure but most times you have to estimate. Using a pick-up truck with an 8’ bed as a guideline, the bed is 2 cubic yards filled level to the top. Therefore, a:
- 10 yard container will save you 5 trips to the landfill
- 12 yard container will save you 6 trips to the landfill
- 16 yard container will save you 8 trips to the landfill
- 20 yard container will save you 10 trips to the landfill
- 30 yard container will save you 15 trips to the landfill
Dimensions:
- 10 yard – 16 x 7.5 x 3.5
- 12 yard – 16 x 7.5 x 4
- 16 yard – 17 x 7.5 x 4.5
- 20 yard – 22 x 8 x 4.5
- 30 yard – 22 x 8 x 6
Another point of reference is a standard parking space, which measures 20 long x 9 feet wide. That is the rough area a container will occupy. The 20 and 30 yard dumpsters are two feet longer but this should give you a better idea of sizing.
